Online courses are considered a flexible option because the content can be accessed at any time, 任何地方, 以任何速度. Generally, students are not penalized for turning in late assignments.  While students are not penalized for late assignments when determining the final course grade, high school student athletes need to have assignments submitted in alignment with the pace of the course for the PowerSchool grade to show adequate progress for athletic eligibility. Athletic Directors review grades weekly for Michigan 高 School Athletic Association (MHSAA) eligibility.  The grade in PowerSchool reflects online coursework as a percent年龄 of total points earned compared to what could be earned during each four-week interim for the student.  This means that if a student only did two of ten assignments, then the grade will reflect "0" for eight assignments. 因此, the result would be that the student would show up as failing even if the two assignments that were turned in and graded were given an "A" or 100%.   因此, student-athletes need to keep pace with the assignments in the online course syllabus (ie. 踱步指南). We also recommend that students check with the school's Athletic Director to understand all the MHSAA rules.  Students who are intending to play on a college/university team should always choose a core course that has been NCAA Approved.  If you are not sure if a course is NCAA approved or require further explanation regarding online grading in PowerSchool, please contact the A2 Virtual+ office.
